For those that are not familiar, each month the members will vote on the best model on display at our monthly meeting. The winning model will be featured in Fast Track Hobbies‘ next news letter and the winner will also be entered into a drawing for a $100 dollar gift card, courtesy of Fast Track Hobbies. That means that you will have a one-in-twelve chance of winning, pretty good odds for sure.![]()

Just wanted to let you know that this weekends display at the Yuba Sutter Market Place is on but the location has changed. We will be setting up at the north end of the mall in front of JC Penny’s. We will be setting up this evening starting at 5:30 and it will run Saturday and Sunday. Anyone interested in helping can meet us there. ![]()
The display is open to all types of models so if you have anything you would like to add please feel free to bring it.

We are pleased to announce Dragon Lady Scale Modelers Dragon Fest 2024. It will be held at the Hope Point Nazarene Church in Yuba City on January 13th. This year we are using a different format. There will be 11 major categories that will be voted on by the attending public plus a Sponsors Choice award. Please join us for an exciting day of great models and perusing the vendor tables for that one model you have been looking for. Hope to see you there.

First a reminder of the Second Chance car show this Saturday at the Cross Roads Church located at 445 B Street in Yuba City CA. The show runs from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. We will be setting up a display and are looking forward to representing the local modeling club so bring your stuff, it is open to all types of models. Set up ![]()

There will be an announcement about an exciting new monthly contest and most importantly it is time to start thinking about the upcoming elections for new club officers. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Marysville Car Fiesta Show will be a no-go event for us as their rules state that we need a business license from the City and have a 2 million insurance policy,. their not enough time to get all the paperwork together in time.
Come see us on June 10, 2023 at the Marysville Car Show on D st between 2 & 3 st to C st, in Marysville , Ca lots of cars and Military vehicles to look at plus some really cool models to look at Hope to see you all there.
Last night meeting was short due to the fact of my Allergies and that I forgot about like most of you did. But please don’t forget about May 7, 2023 at Folsom Lake Fast tack RC event, June 17, 2023 Silver Wings contest, this past weekend we did a display at Grumpy car show but have line up a couple more model displays have workout the details will keep everyone posted.
Just a few shots from the display at Grumpy’s on Saturday. We didn’t have quite as much room this year but still managed a pretty good one.
Had a great time at the Yuba- Sutter Mall this weekend passing out over five hundred social media cards to the public.

Just received some great news, We will be having a display at the Yuba Sutter Marketplace mall next month. The display will run from Friday April 14th thru Sunday the 16th. We will once again be located at the south entrance in front of the Hobby Lobby entrance. We will be able to set up on the 13th after 6:00 pm and we will need to be out by 6:00 pm on Sunday so anyone willing to help should be there by then. ![]()

The display will be open to any type of model and there should be plenty of space. There will also be space available for some to work on stuff so feel free to bring something to work on. It was built to blow out raging fires, and is one of the most powerful pieces of firefighting equipment in the world.![]()

The idea originated in the Soviet Union, when trucks were fitted with smaller MiG engines to blast water at fires.![]()

The example shown here is of Hungarian design – a T-34 fitted with two Tumansky R-25 turbojet engines, the same used in the MiG-21 fighter. The engines are positioned in place of the turret and rotate and even pivot up and down.![]()

Above the engines are pipes that spray water into the jet exhaust.![]()

When in action, the 130 decibel jets blast exhaust gasses near the speed of sound towards a fire – mostly like one at an oil well. 220 gallons of water is then sprayed into the stream per second.![]()

The power of the jets cut off the supply of oil spraying out the of the well before it can ignite and continue to fuel the fire, extinguishing it.![]()

The armor of the old WWII tank allows Big Wind to get extremely close to the fire – about 25 feet away. It proved invaluable during the 1991 Gulf War, where it put out a number of oil well fires in Kuwait.

There were a total of 322 models entered in the show and we had 15 vendors this year. Our vendors had a great showing of cool models for sale and they also donated many great models for our show raffle.![]()

At our September 6 meeting, we discussed the upcoming shows and talked about the big show coming in November and had some show-n-tell and a raffle. We met with the Word Of Life Royal Rangers to discuss model building classes. We are going to be working with a couple of groups to help put the show together and the Royal Rangers are going to help!![]()
